Pittsburgh Grand Prix Countryside Tour

Montse with our flight
Last July we drove out to join the Countryside Tour put on in conjunction with the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix.  The Grand Prix is a huge event over several days but unfortunately we had other commitments and could only make it there for the Countryside Tour.

This year, the tour began at the Century Inn in Scenery Hill, PA and ended at the Coventry Inn in Indiana, PA.  That is quite a hike out into western PA from where we live so we left the morning before and planned on spending the night at the Century Inn to be where the action was the following morning.  As luck would have it, rain followed us all the way from home until we got there but fortunately it let up shortly before pulling into the Inn and it didn't rain again for the rest of the trip.

Our flight catches a faster flight at a light

The following morning there were quite a bit of cars for the tour and we selected to go with a slow flight composed of a Healey, a TR3 and a MGA.  The flights were generally made up of four cars and were divided into fast, moderate and slow categories.  The run out to Indiana took us through some very nice back roads and very scenic terrain.  We left around 09:00 and got there at about 13:00.  If we had gone on a straight line it would not have taken half that long but the purpose of the thing was to run out and have a good time on the back roads.

Ed's car

We met a bunch of really nice people at breakfast at the Inn.  We also met a couple of the guys from the MGTDr forum.  It was great fun and could not have asked for a nicer day for a run like this.  Unfortunately, we needed to be back in Philly by evening so we left right after lunch for the long ride back home on the turnpike.

Montse behaved admirably, even in the rain on the Turnpike on the way out.  We had no issues but it sure was a major beating driving all the way there and back.  I've bought a tow bar to use on trips like this from now on.  The long distances on the interstate are just not fun at all.  We are planning on going back next year and stay for at least a couple of days to join in on the festivities.

Great Valley Baptist Church, Valley Forge, and Deer

At the Baptist Church in the Great Valley
Yesterday we took the MG out in one of our early evening spins.  Instead of heading out to the Goshen loop we took the Darby Paoli Rd route to go Valley Forge Park.  That route goes out to Church and then Waterloo following Waterloo until it merges with 252 and goes into the park.

I was very surprised to see that road conditions on Waterloo have not improved very much since the last ride we took there.  The road is still full of pot holes on torn up in several sections, especially on the return side.  I thought that by now this would have been repaired but it doesn't appear that they have done much work at all.

As we passed the Great Valley Baptist Church I made a quick decision to stop and take a couple of shot there.  I've been wanting to do that for the last 3 years and have never stopped.  Not the best or most dramatic shots ever but they will do.

From there we continued on to Valley Forge and did a couple of loops through the inner and outer defense lines.  The light was falling dramatically, especially under the canopy, and we had seen several small group of deer on the way in so I did not take the twists as hard as I would have liked for fear of having a close encounter of the deer kind.  However, it is still a nice fun drive on the MG with all the tight hair pin turns and hills to climb.

On the way back I wanted to avoid Waterloo because of the road issues so I went under 202, took the left and followed that to the West Valley Rd for another left under 202 in the opposite direction to get to Swedesford Rd.  Once there I followed it out to Walker and took that towards Old Gulph Rd.  On the way out we noticed more deer in small packs and somewhere on Walker we drove up to a doe and fawn sitting no more than 10 feet from the edge of the road.  They look at us as we slowed down and didn't even blink and eye.

Once on Old Gulph we took the left to South Wayne and took that across downtown Wayne and into the Louella neighborhood.  We followed some side roads, instead of cutting across to Conestoga, that wound us around back to 30 over by Chamonix.  From there we just took 30 to Radnor Chester Rd and Newtown Rd to home.

A great ride, specially in the park.  At this time of day there was hardly anyone else on the back roads at the park and even if I couldn't go as fast or as hard as I would have liked, it was a very enjoyable ride.  Other than the concern about keeping an eye out for deer we could not have asked for better conditions.

I made an appointment to take the MG in today for a complete check before we head out for Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix next week.

Body Trim and Chrome Edging

Wednesday evening we put the top down and took a short drive up Goshen to the Wawa to get a frozen coffee and just to do a little bit of a ride.  From the Wawa we came back home via Sugartown/Paoli Pike/Darby/Devon and Church.  We also did a couple of loops on St Davids and Waterloo before returning home.

Weather was beautiful with nice temps and light cloud cover.  We had no incidents or problems and there was little traffic to contend with.

When we got home I found the package from Brandsport.  I thought I had ordered 10 feet because their internet copy said that it came in 5 foot lengths but they sell in 1 foot units so I ended up with 2 feet which is what I needed for the missing strip.  So I put it on the missing space and I won't replace the rest.  It's not identical but it's close enough that unless one is looking it is not really noticeable.

Also I put the edging on both rear fenders now the only thing left is to put it on the front port side fender.  I may look for different edging to see if I can get something to cover the rear fenders completely because now all I can do is cover the wheel wells due to the thinness of the edging.

Running with the Top Up

After I got home from my Bishop Hollow Rd run we took the MG out to do a test on the chrome edging and to see how riding with the top up felt.  I am afraid that the chrome edging will not hold up to road shake but on our short run it stayed in place.

We just ran out Goshen to Garrett Mill and took that to the Pike and did a reverse run to get home.  It was close to 20:00 when we left so although the sun hadn't gone down yet it was beginning to get dark and in the wooded areas it was really dark.  Driving with the top up is a little different, it feels weird not to have a 360 degree view and there are some serious blind spots at 5 and 7 o'clock that the mirrors just don't cover.

Obstinate goose
When we passed the Red Barn the white goose that has chased me before was there sitting on the side of the road.  Of course, he was camera shy and refused to let Charlene take his picture but at least we got him despite his refusal.  We stopped at Garrett Mill Park where I checked the chrome and snapped a couple of shots of the MG.  That was our turn around point.

It was a great ride, the chrome stayed on, and having the top up did not kill me.  I will try to get the rest of the car's edge chromed because it does look much better and maybe I won't regret the effort and lost time.

Chadds Ford Antiquing

The overcast began to break up shortly after my return from the morning ride so we took the MG and headed to Chadds Ford to enjoy the afternoon and do a little antiquing on the way.  We headed out using our regular route on Goshen to Garrett Mill and across the Pike to 926 and Creek Road.

Once we reached Route 1 on Creek we took a right stopping at Spring House Furnishings and Brandywine View Antiques before ending up a Brandywine River Antique Market (the White Barn), the place where we bought the photo of the 1920s hottie a couple of weeks back.

Brandywine View Antiques is changing locations and they did have very many good things left in stock but the most interesting thing about it was the place.  The business was located in an old, three story, farm house with a big porch all around.  The people that originally build this place must have had money because, while not a mansion by any means, they did build a very nice, large house for the era (probably early XX century).  I hope the house doesn't get torn down.

We didn't find any great treasures but I did buy an illustrated book on the history of cavalry at the White Barn.  After that we stopped at Mushrooms, next to the White Barn, for a late lunch.  We both had soup and sandwiches which where very good.  They have really good mushroom soup and we bought a quart of that to bring home.  As we ate I kept an eye on the sky because it was getting progressively darker as the afternoon moved on so after lunch we headed back on a reverse route for home.

On the way back we pulled over to Thornbury Farm to get some tomatoes and found a flock of Rhode Island Reds had taken over the road.  They had broken out of the farm across the street from the farm stand and where quite content to just mill around the road and parking lot completely unphased by anything.  After leaving the farm stand and turning back on 926 we fell in behind an orange McLaren and followed it all the way to 352 where it turned off towards the Pike.

It never rained while we were out, actually it never rained all afternoon, but the threat seemed real enough to cut the ride short.  When we got home I put the top up, firs time I've done so since I got the car, and cleaned it.  I also attempted to install chrome edging to the leading seams and succeeded in getting the starboard front bumper done but I don't think it will hold.  The edge of the fiberglass is of varying thicknesses and I don't think the edging will stand up to the shake of the road.  That was an hours worth of work so I want to see what happens before I consider doing the rest of the car.

Top up.  You can see the chrome edging on the starboard fender

Nice ride, if not very long.  I think the brakes are feeling a little spongy but I'm not sure that is not just in my head.  Will have to keep an eye on that.

The exotic tally now stands at 17 Teslas, 17 Ferraris, 11 Maseratis, 5 Bentleys, 5 McLarens, 3 Cobras, 2 Austin-Healeys, 2 Lambos, 2 Unknowns,1 Rolls Royce, and 1 DeLorean.

Friday Night Dinner Ride

Friday evening we took the MG out and went to the Fellini Café in Newtown Square to get dinner.  We eat at this Fellini fairly regularly and we always enjoy their food.  From there we took a little ride up Goshen to fuel up at the Wawa on the West Chester Pike and 352.

After we refuel we continued on the Pike towards West Chester looking for a coffee shop.  We found a Starbucks on the corner of the Pike and Five Points Rd.  Much to my surprise, the Starbucks was closed so we just continued up Five Points Rd to the Paoli Pike and took that to Ellis Rd.  At Ellis we made a ride and returned to Strasburg to follow that back home.

In the field across from the Oreo Cow Farm, on the Pike side of the road, we saw a young buck feeding.  We have seen a doe feeding there several times before in the early evening but this is the first time we have seen a buck.  On one of the rides I took with our great-niece we saw several turkey buzzards feeding on a dead deer in this same spot and it always worries me that one will jump out on the road in front of us.

It wasn't a long ride and it was basically an excuse to refuel but we were both glad because the evening was very nice and the weather perfect for riding.

At the gas station the tank took 4.297 gallons of premium at $3.159 for a total of $13.57.  Mileage since last refuel was 26.99 mpg on 116 miles traveled.

The Sugartown Moose

The Sugartown Moose
On Sunday night, 14 June, Charlene and I took the MG out for a short ride and refuel since we were close to hitting the bottom of my 150 miles per tank safety mark.  We did a Goshen loop out to the Wawa on the Chester Pike and 352 were we refueled.

When we fueled up, the tank took 6.378 gallons of Premium at $3.329 a gallon for a total of $21.23.  Since the last refuel on the MG we had put on 159.2 miles on the odo which, at refueling, read 4143 miles.  The mileage on this tank was 24.96 mpg.  From there we headed back home the long way going down Dutton Mill and Sugartown, where we got a shot of the flowered moose by slowing down on the middle of the road, and then turning around just past the Paoli Pike to retrace our run down Sugartown.  We took a couple of detours on some side roads but eventually took Providence, from Sugartown, and then cut back on Warren to Davis and back to Grubbs Mill.

Weather was perfect and it was another great ride.

4143 miles on Sunday, 14 June, 2015.

Fourth Annual Paoli Car Show

Paoli Car Show
Saturday morning, the Paoli Methodist Church put on a car show at the church on Devon Rd.  We had attended this show a couple of years back and we wanted to take the MG to it.  It's a very small show, maybe fifty cars at most but it seemed like a fun thing to do and the last time we went there were some interesting cars.

This time the show did not disappoint either; there were at least six Ferraris in attendance, some really nice looking Model As, and one really cool yellow MGB.  We met a couple who are also members of HCCP, Bob and Pat Bodek, who have a red 1930 Model A hotrod and the yellow MGB.  We chatted with them for quite a while and really enjoyed our conversation.  They were really nice people and I think both of us learned quite a bit from them.  I am looking forward to seeing them at some of these events.  Bob told me that there is a cruise night at the East Goshen Park Famers' Market on the 18th, unfortunately we won't be able to make it this time.

This was a great outing because the show was small but there was still quite a bit of people traffic and it was very relaxed.  They organizers don't collect a registration fee but accept donations for the sponsoring church.  They also had food and music.  Both of us really enjoyed this show.

On the way back home we took a ride through Devon and Wayne and generally took the long way to enjoy the car.

See the rest of the photos from the show in my Flickr Cars Album.

Más Mexicali Cantina

Courthouse Clock Tower from the Terrace
Despite our previous misadventure with dinner in West Chester we took a ride out there on Friday night to eat at the Más Mexicali Cantina on State Street.  We took the MG on our regular West Chester route, up Goshen/Strasburg to the Pike and then straight into town on Gay Street.  All the parking spots in the downtown area were full so we had to find alternative parking in a structure on the corner of Walnut and Chestnut.  This arrangement worked out pretty well because, as long as one doesn't stay for more than three hours, it's cheaper to park here than in the open lots.

Dinner at the Cantina was good, not the best Mexican I've ever had but not bad at all.  We sat on the terrace which is a happening spot for the younger crowd but since the weather was so good it was a shame to sit inside.  After dinner we took a walk to Gemelli for gelato, great as always and then a short passeggiata through the downtown area.

On the way back we took a short ride around the University area and then headed out Market to the Pike.  I overshot Strasburg but got on it from Ellis and then did the reverse ride home.  I am really loving the rides in the early evenings.  The weather has been great at this time of day, even when it has gotten hotter during the day, and it is really an enjoyable experience.

Friday Country Run

Silver Bell Farm, Glenmoore
Friday I took the day off from work so we could take some time for a nice ride on the MG.  We left home around 11:00 and headed towards Malvern. via Goshen, Providence, and Warren, because we wanted to go back to Fat Jack's BBQ.

Fat Jack's did not disappoint the second time around.  The food was just as good as the first time proving that it was not a fluke.  We both had the burned ends sandwiches this time.  I think they were great and I enjoyed it but I am a pork guy so next time I'm going back to pork.

After lunch we headed west on 30, Charlene wanted to go to Resellers Consignment, a huge consignment shop on 30 on the edge of Frazer.  It's a huge place but the only thing I saw of interest was an old brass car horn.  They wanted $125 for it, I don't know if that's a good price or not but I just wasn't willing to pay that much for a curiosity.

We continued west on 30, the traffic in Frazer, as always, was just insane but once we cleared Frazer it all cleared out again.  We stopped at the Wawa, where the 30 bypass crosses over 30, for a frozen coffee and there decided to get off 30 and go through some back roads.  The intersection road there is Bell Tavern Road and we followed that through a subdivision and out into a wooded country lane area.  Eventually we came to Norwood Rd, took a left, and followed that to 282.  Bell Tavern, beyond 113, and Norwood Rd run through some nice shady lanes with heavy woods on both sides.  No huge twists or hills but a nice short country drive.  At 282 we made a left and that led us straight into Downingtown.  Once we got across Pennsylvania Ave 282 divides into two one way streets.  I did not notice the division and rolled right into the oncoming traffic street going in the opposite direction.  Luckily there was no one else on the road and I made it back to 30 without even noticing.  There I realized my mistake a took a right on 30 out of the one way street.  This was not accomplished without arising the ire of some passive aggressive knucklehead on a Ford F150 that could not way to point out my folly.  You know what they say in Auckem, "If they can take a joke,...

Creekside Antiques, Downingtown
In Downingtown we stopped a Creekside Antiques, on the corner of 30 and 322.  There I found a brand new Shoei bucket for a hundred bucks.  It's too bad that my grape is so huge and that the bucket was only a large because, had it fit, I would have bought it.  I don't need another bucket but a nice Shoei for that price was a steal.

After leaving the antique shop we headed up 322.  I remembered that there was another antique shop Charlene liked in that area and I was pretty sure that it was just right off 322.

Silver Bell Farm, Glenmoore
The place I was thinking about, Silver Bell Antiques, turned out to be off 322 but a little further down the road that I had figured.  At some point I thought that I was mistaken and that we should turn around but no sooner had I voiced that opinion that I could see the big white barn on the side of the road from a little rise we had just crested.

When I pulled into the parking lot a guy pulled in next to me and came over to ask me about the car.  He thought it was a TD and was very impressed when I told him it was a replica.  He had owned several British sports cars and we talked about cars for a little while before going in the shop.  Charlene and I have been in this shop before but they have made some changes, one of which is the addition of a dealer in militaria, so there was some interesting stuff for me look at.  I didn't find anything I wanted to buy but it was fun to look at the military stuff in the shop.

I picked up a map of antique shops in the area from the front desk, not so much for the shops but to get an idea of a route to take back.  We decided to continue up 322 to 82 and take that until we hit 23 for the road to Phoenixville.  The two first roads, 322 and 82, run mostly through open farm country and, for a Friday afternoon getting close to rush hour, were surprisingly free of traffic.  Ridge Road, 23, oddly enough, runs on a ridge along side a wide valley to its south through some little towns and very picturesque areas.  This is a nice ride that we will have to repeat maybe going in the opposite direction.  One of the places that we notice was the Seven Stars Inn, on the corner of Seven Stars Rd and Ridge, its a restaurant located in an homestead from the early 1700s that has been an inn or tavern since 1736.

We stopped for gas at the corner of Ridge and Pottstown Pike at a Sunoco station.  At the refuel stop we had put 129.2 miles since the last fill up and the odo read 3983 miles.  The tank took 4.686 gallons of ultra at $3.079 a gallon for a total of $14.43.  Mileage since that last refuel was 27.57 mpg.

Lazy dawg
After we got the the spot where 724 splits off from 23, on the edge of Phoenixville, we began to run into traffic.  By this time it had to have been somewhere between 17:15 and 17:30, the perfect time for congestion.  When I passed Hare Hill Rd on 23 I thought for a second of taking that down to 113 but I didn't follow up on it.  We stayed on 23 and took 113 before getting into Phoenixville following 113 until Coldstream and taking that to Charlestown Rd.  At the corner of Coldstream and Charlestown we got a little traffic and were stuck there for a couple of moment waiting for the people in front of us to make the left.  This gave us enough time to get a shot of a cute fat English Bulldog laying on his driveway, obviously waiting for his master to come home.

As we got pass the barn on Charlestown Rd two deer, a doe and buck, ran in the road in front of us.  I was able to slow down and get them both past my lane.  The doe made it all the way across the road.  Unfortunately the buck was not as lucky.  He barely got past me but the minivan in the oncoming lane was had not slowed down enough to let him pass.  I did not see the impact, just heard the sickening thud, Charlene turned around and saw it.  This is one of the most horrible things that can happen in these country lanes.  It's not the damage to the car or even the possible harm that a collision with a deer can do to the passengers and driver, it's the fear you see in their eyes as they try to clear the way when they realize they are not going to make it.  I don't like to see that, it's always very upsetting.  That little episode put a damper in what would have been a beautiful ride.

After that I just wanted to get home.  We took Yellow Spring off Charlestown to avoid 30 and stayed on that to North Valley Rd to Swedesford.  The left at Swedesford took us to 252 across 30 and down to Goshen.  We made a quick stop at the liquor store on 252 and 30 to buy some libations for a beach party we had planned for Sunday down the Shore.  The run on Yellow Spring and North Valley is also wooded and twisty and makes for a quick transition out without having to take 30, another alternative route to get out west.

Despite the incident with the deer it was a good ride.  When we left it was chilly and over cast but that cleared out fairly quickly.  Part of that has to be the geographical area where we live, it is allways chillier and wetter in our little area for some reason.  The day was never completely cloudless but the temps rose and there were clear blue patches of sky through out.  Had it not been for the deer it would have been a perfect ride.

Oreo Cows

Oreo Cow Farm
Shortly after I got back from my Bullet ride after the concert at the Easttown Library on Sunday afternoon we took the MG out for a spin.  We decided to go try a new place to eat first, Fat Jack's BBQ in Malvern.

We headed out Earles Lane toward Goshen and within a couple of blocks from the house we saw a white Tesla going in the opposite direction.  I am convinced that this has to be the same Tesla I've seen twice before on Earles Lane because it is too much of a coincidence but without getting the plate it would be impossible to confirm.  The fact that PA does not require plates in front makes confirming this even more difficult.

Once on 252 we took Newtown Rd to Sugartown rather than stay on 252 just to make the ride a little more enjoyable because of the country lane feel of Newtown Rd as opposed to the more highway feel of 252.  At the corner of Sugartown and 252 where Sugartown turns into Darby Rd a dark (could have been green, black, or blue) Tesla turned onto Darby in front of us.  We stayed on Darby to Devon and took that left to Warren.  At Warren we took the right and followed it out to Old Lancaster and then Old Lincoln to 30.  We then continued on 30 until we got to Fat Jack's.

Fat Jack's in not much from the outside being set up in the far corner of a strip mall.  However, the food is amazing.  We had South Carolina mustard sauce BBQ (which for some weird reason they call Georgia style) and burned ends.  It was really delicious with very generous portions.  We both had the sandwiches which came with real fries and coleslaw.  I'm not a big fan of slaw but this was very good and it did not drown out the BBQ, being just a small enough portion to give flavor and crunch without overwhelming.  The place was clean and decorated with funky signs and posters, including a scaled down reproduction of the Spanish version poster for Barbarella.  Random but very cool.

Belted Galloway/Oreo cows
From there we headed back on the reverse route to Warren but once there we stayed on all the way out to Providence and took the left on Sugartown to Goshen.  At Goshen we took the right and headed out towards Strasburg Rd.  When we reached Duttons Mill we noticed some Belted Galloway cows in the pasture on the right.  We have never seen these cows here before.  There's another farm all the way where 926 dog legs on Newark Rd that has Belted Galloways but there's no good place to get off the road to take pictures.  So I took a right on Duttons Mill and, of course, I had some Yankee with his tail on fire immediately on top of me so I couldn't pull off.  No worries, we made the block back to Sugartown and Goshen and this time I was able to pull off on a bit of grass by the cows to take some pictures.

After the pics we just turned around on the road and headed back up Goshen/Strasburg to West Chester.  Once in West Chester we drove around town and into the campus of West Chester University.  The campus is in an urban setting but has some interesting older building some dating back to the turn of the last century.  From there we headed back to downtown and stopped at our favorite gelato place, Gemelli, for chocolate espresso and salted caramel gelato.  Just excellent!

On the way back we took a right at Five Points Rd and followed that down to Westtown Rd.  We had never been in either of these roads before.  Five Points is fairly straight and suburban but once on Westtown the road turns more country and with twists just like most country lanes in the area.  Westtown eventually leads out to 926 for our loop back through Garretts Mill and Goshen.  This is a good route to know as another way to get in and out of West Chester without having to use the Pike.

Another great ride at the perfect time of day.  Great weather and temp and no issues from the car.  Can't ask for better.  Nothing but rain yesterday and today so no riding, not even commuting on the Bullet, for the last two days.

Thornbury Founders Day Show

Thornbury Park
On Saturday afternoon Charlene and I took the MG to the Thornbury Founders Day Celebration Show at Thornbury Park.  This was a small invitational show put on by HCCP for about 20 cars.  Jim Mooney had secured and invitation for us from Bill Kinnett so we were able to show Montse there.

The show began at 17:00 so we headed out of the house at about 16:30 to go to the Liberty Station on the West Chester Pike and Winding Rd for a refuel.  When we made the right at Winding Rd there was a green Tesla waiting for the light on the left turn lane.  I'm starting to think that Teslas are as thick as fleas around here.  At the gas station there was a white McLaren fueling up right next to us.  The guy was fueling up and I wanted to take a picture of the car but he looked a little sour faced so I didn't ask.  At the pump the odo read 3854 miles for 160.8 miles since the last fuel up.  The tank took 5.410 gallons at 3.699 a gallon for a total of $23.71 and a mileage of 29.72 mpg.

From there we headed up the Pike for the left at 926.  We followed 926 across 352 and made the left on Tanguy.  We stayed on Tanguy until we reached Cheney University and made the left onto Cheney Rd.   I had planned on taking Thornton off Cheney but I missed the turned and continued on Cheney until we reached Glen Mills Rd.  I made the right but soon found the road blocked.  I turned out that the blockage was part of the Founders Day Celebration, they make people park at outlying lots and ferry them in, so the guy just let us right through.

The Turners 1910 REO
When we got to the park most of the cars from the club were already there so we found a spot and parked.  We pulled out our chairs and set out to join the rest of the club.  We met the Turners (1910 REO) and the Alexanders (late 40s Chevy) and sat with them.  They were really nice and welcoming and we really enjoyed talking to them about car shows, tours, and the car life.  Also got to finally meet Jim Mooney in person, another great guy and very interested in photography so we had a ton of stuff to talk about.

Later on in the afternoon, Jim pointed out that there was an MG parked at the edge of the park.  It wasn't in the show area but evidently they let him in to the park.  We could see it from where we were standing and I could tell right away that it was a replica.  We walked over and took a look at it.  It was a white London Roadster, which I determined before I saw the plaque.  It was in good shape but not as good shape as Montse.  One of the things I noticed is that it had a Pennsylvania Antique plate, this is something that I want to get for Montse so I will have to do some research on that.  I had a huge brain embolism and didn't take a shot of it.  I don't know what I was thinking about but I didn't get a picture and I didn't leave a note with my number.  I would have liked to talked to the owner about the car.

We really enjoyed the picnic, there were some food vendors and we got a roasted pork sandwich form Duffer's that was really good.   We have passed this place quite a few times on 352 but have never stopped.  We are going to put it in as one of our food stops in the rambles.

We didn't stay until the fireworks, leaving early at around 20:30 to avoid darkness and mosquitoes.  It was a great time and we are definitely planning to do more club activities.

We took the same route in reverse and enjoyed the early evening ride.  I could tell that some grubby fingered ankle bitter had put his little mitts all over the hood because I could see sticky hand prints everywhere.  Not a big deal, simple wipe with McGuire's Ultimate Quick Detailer and it was good as new again.

The exotic tally stands at 15 Ferraris, 14 Teslas, 11 Maseratis, 4 Bentleys, 3 Cobras, 3 McLarens,  2 Austin-Healeys, 2 Lambos, 2 Unknowns,1 Rolls Royce, and 1 DeLorean.
